John M. House, MD
As the founder and Chairman of the Board of USSM, John M. House, M.D.—utilizing his 30 years of experience in healthcare and physician leadership—helps USSM partner organizations solidify the strategic direction and provide insight to the physician leadership to optimize their practices. He was a board-certified urologic surgeon and was the co-founder, chief executive officer, and president of USMD Holdings, which brought together 250 independent physicians in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. He was also the co-founder of Urology Associates of North Texas, one of the largest urologic surgery groups in North America.
Dr. House received a B.S. in chemistry from the University of South Dakota, and he received his master’s degree in chemical engineering at Texas Tech University. He then graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine. Subsequently, he completed his residency in urologic surgery at the University of Missouri in 1988.
Dr. House was a founding Board Member of the Large Urology Group Practice Association (LUPGA), a consortium of more than 50 large urology group practices and initially became a Diplomat of the American Board of Urology in 1992.
