Chief Executive Officer

As CEO, Bob serves as a resource for the entire USSM team of healthcare executives and professionals, bringing strategic vision and management to the company and physician groups for successful navigation in this challenging world of independent healthcare.

With over 35 years of experience, Bob is a recognized leader in physician practice management, ancillary development, operations, and M&A strategies. Bob has served on boards of numerous healthcare companies and start-ups in the private and public sectors.

Throughout his career, he focused on healthcare start-ups, operations, development, and growth of several healthcare organizations in the medical specialties of urology, orthopedics, and neurosurgery. Most notable was his role as Chief Development Officer at USMD, Inc., a publicly traded integrated healthcare system in North Texas where he joined other executives to build and develop a health system with over 250 independent physicians, surgical hospitals, cancer treatment centers, independent diagnostic testing facilities, and mobile medical services for lithotripsy, cryotherapy, and BPH lasers.

Bob launched his career in the late ’80s with a group of neurosurgeons and orthopedists, developing and managing their independent practices and building joint ventured ancillary service lines in diagnostic imaging and physical and occupational therapy, before acquiring these businesses after “Stark” regulations became a reality.

Bob is a graduate of Emporia State University in Kansas, with degrees in business administration and finance. He is an avid outdoorsman, a collector of classic cars, a college basketball fan, and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
