Robert Firlit currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer – Clinical Services for USSM, overseeing financial operations for all physician practices and internal ancillary services across multiple markets. Since joining USSM in June of 2021 as the St. Louis Market CFO, Robert has steadily advanced into executive leadership, playing a central role in driving financial integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic growth across the enterprise.

In his role as CFO, Robert is responsible for enterprise-wide financial management, including treasury functions, revenue cycle performance, operational reporting, and financial planning for clinical services. He previously served as CFO of Urology of St. Louis and Neurosurgery of St. Louis, where he led initiatives to standardize reporting, centralize accounting functions, and improve data governance and revenue recognition.

With nearly two decades of experience in healthcare finance, Robert has built his career around providing strategic financial decision support to independent physician practices. Prior to joining USSM, he was the Chief Financial Officer at Insight Medical Genetics, where he led M&A due diligence and professionalized the organization’s accounting and compliance functions. He began his career with a large independent urology group in suburban Chicago, laying the groundwork for his commitment to advancing the independence and success of physician-led organizations.

Robert holds a BA in History and an MBA in Healthcare Management, both from Loyola University Chicago.
